Local Sports Chain Closes

As of 4/6/09, BC Sports has filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy and is no longer in existence. This means that any and all points under the card club are gone, along with my part-time employment. I should know a little bit more about this tomorrow once I talk to the store manager, and will relay some more information.

BC Sports was a sports memorabilia and collectibles chain in the Northeast region of the country that had headquarters in West Chester, P.A. I'm fairly certain if you have any issues you can probably still get a number for the headquarters from information.

  1. I'm sorry to hear about that, Marie. I could employ you as the coolest Yankee fan that I know, but you already do that for free ...

  4. That...well...sucks. Some good moments with BC. I took my wife to a Jamie Moyer signing at the Oxford Valley location (She loves Jamie...entirely too much for a 23 year old). I'll just miss it making a trip to the mall palatable.

  5. That's a shame. They had some nice in-store player signings.

  6. The BC Sports in Aventura was so overpriced it was ridiculous.

When I blogged about how much their wax was on my blog I had two of their employees threatening me over it.

Needless to say, the Aventura shop closed about two months ago but this came as a surprise.

  9. @ my_fathers_son

his name was panichello you moron. he didn't make good decisions, but at least get his name right...

  10. I don't care how you want to say his name but it should be Rat Fink. All of our final paychecks bounced! That is fraud and the matter has already been taken to the Police. Now go ahead and get all bent out of shape because someone made fun of his name. Who's the moron now? Didn't make good decisions? Shafting us out of our money was certainly a wonderful decision!

  11. Check out AB Sports, not BC. AB Sports is a new Sports Collectible store in the Concord Mall. It is owned by 3 former employees of BC Sports who opened the store in a tough economy after BC Sports went bankrupt and let them go. Since then our Bankruptcy Court system has allowed the BC ownership group, led by John Panichello, James Kim (former owner of Electronics Boutique) and Philadelphia Brokerage, to form a new corporation, buy back their inventory for pennies on the dollar and re-open stores under the same name, while not paying landlords or vendors, and denying employees their final paychecks and 401K disbursements. AB has great prices, great selection, and great customer service. Shop with the HONEST little guy, not with the evil billionaires who will probably do the same things all over again and laugh all the way to the bank.

  12. matty, I called him Pachuco intentionally to be facetious, do you know what that means? Pachuko means a 50's character who wore a zoot suit. I did it as a sign of disrespect.
